From what I've played I've barely scratched the surface and my ever growing backlog means I may not return to it anytime soon but I can safely say I had a decent time with it. Plagued by vicious poachers for your precious tusks and weakened by disease, hope is almost lost - until an enigmatic Elven stranger offers you, the young chieftain Akrog, a path to salvation: you must resurrect a fallen god.Features:The perfect blend of RTS and RPG: SpellForce. The latest entry in the series is SpellForce 3 with it's two expansions Soul Harvest and Fallen God, developed by Grimlore Games. SpellForce 3: Fallen God - DiscordAbout the GameYour dwindling, nomadic tribe of trolls has just one goal: survival. The first release was published by JoWooD Productions and Encore Software in 2003 and the latest by THQ Nordic (Nordic Games), the current owner of the JoWooD publishing label, in 2021. Once inside it feels pretty much how you would play a CRPG. SpellForce is a real-time strategy and role-playing series created by Phenomic. One of the early missions illustrates this by having you defeat an enemy force surrounding an abandoned castle but once you finish off this RTS part of the mission your smaller team of heroes must go in into the actual ruins by themselves without their army so as not to alert the enemies within and cause them to scatter. That said from what I've played, RTS missions feel slightly divorced from the RPG portions. You have story characters that you control during the story sequences and missions that have their own abilities and quests. In fact in many instances it feels like a CRPG where you find yourself walking around a city or town, conversing with NPCS and quest givers. I've put maybe ten to fifteen hours into it and it seems to meld RPG and RTS relatively well.
